Administration Coordinator

The WDMO is seeking a highly organized individual with a business administration related background to join its team on a part-time capacity (15 hours per week). Experience in the tourism industry would be an asset. Working closely with a small team in a fast paced office environment, the successful candidate would be responsible for the following duties:

  • Perform daily and monthly bookkeeping and filing – accounts receivable/payable
  • Process biweekly payroll
  • Process payments for Revenue Canada/CADO/WHSCC
  • Prepare biweekly bank deposits
  • Prepare and help submit quarterly claims of eligible expenses to government partners
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and budgets for funding and summer student employment
  • Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Diploma in a business/administration related discipline, or an equivalent combination of related work experience and/or qualifications
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in person and by phone/email
  • Detail-oriented, organized and comfortable using computers
  • Knowledge of Sage (Simply) Accounting software is an asset
  • Team contributor; assists with various projects/initiatives as they arise in a timely manner

The position is based at Go Western Newfoundland’s office in Corner Brook, NL.  Position is contractual and renewed bi-annually based on funding and performance.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Travel Trade & Media Relations

The WDMO is seeking a highly organized individual with a business/marketing related background to join its team. Working closely with a small team in a fast paced office environment, the successful candidate’s primary responsibilities would include:

Marketing & Engagement:

  • Represent Go Western Newfoundland at a variety of travel trade and media marketplaces both nationally and internationally – as approved by board and funding partners in annual work plan
  • In partnership with government partners and industry stakeholders, coordinate Familiarization (Fam) Tour Program – developing and securing itineraries for travel trade and media
  • Hosting travel trade and travel media representatives throughout the region
  • Develop collateral materials for use at media and travel trade shows, as needed
  • Support team on various provincial and regional marketing initiatives
  • Content development for WDMO website
  • Assist with content creation for social media

Market Readiness

  • Coach individual operators on requirements for working with travel trade or attending marketplaces
  • Support other staff in mentoring stakeholders on experience development – especially how it relates to Travel trade relationships

Governance and Administration

  • Develop and lead marketing committee in quarterly meetings and report to Board of Directors
  • Prepare and monitor annual budgets for Familiarization Tour Program and marketplace attendance

 The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in a business, marketing and/or tourism related discipline, or an equivalent combination of related work experience and/or qualifications
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in person and by phone/email
  • Sales experience is an asset
  • Experience with social media and content creation
  • Team contributor; assists with various projects/initiatives as they arise in a timely manner
  • Must have valid passport and be willing to travel outside of province
  • Must have access to personal vehicle

The position is based at Go Western Newfoundland’s office in Corner Brook, NL and will require travel outside of regular workday hours.  Position is contractual and renewed annually based on funding and performance.
