Winter Tourism Coordinator


Closing date: November 16, 2022

Salary: $25.00/hour

Hours: 30 hrs/week, weekends and evenings will be required

Go Western Newfoundland works closely with our partners to engage winter stakeholders to work collaboratively on growing winter tourism visitation and awareness. The Winter Tourism Coordinator will aid in the development of partnerships to create and grow winter programming in Western Newfoundland. The Winter Tourism Coordinator will work closely with the team to amplify and promote communities, operators and partners who have market ready winter product.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, organizational ability, and initiative

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable editing Wix websites

  • Project management skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

  • Effective time management

  • Attention to detail

  • Coordinating multiple events at once

  • Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Knowledge of provincial tourism industry and marketing efforts considered an asset


Main duties:

  • Help to identify and support multiple partnerships in an effort to create additional winter programming aimed at celebrating winter in Western Newfoundland; gain a complete understanding of the supports required for partnerships to be successful

  • Work with Go Western Newfoundland and partners to support programming on the ground

  • Attend meetings (in-person &/or virtual via Zoom) to keep all partners informed

  • Maintain regular contact with tourism operators and partners

  • Assist with marketing and promotion of winter in Western Newfoundland

  • Adding local events and experiences to

  • Work with Regional Marketing Officer and Director of Trade & Media to leverage marketing opportunities

  • Support operators with various market readiness tools
