  1. This is where Newfoundland & Labrador Tourism (NLT) and DMOs pull information for marketing opportunities. This includes story ideas to pitch to media, planning FAMs, keeping frontline staff at VICs in the know, seasonal marketing campaigns, e-newsletters, and more.

  2. Accommodations, campgrounds and outfitting establishments submit occupancy statistics in the portal. This is incredibly useful for NLT's Tourism Research Division

  3. Tourism operators can create multiple listings and add multiple travel offers.

  4. Listings with colourful, current, and crisp photos receive significantly more views than those without. Need images? We have a content gallery.

  5. It’s an easy way to get in front of visitors during their trip planning stage. NLT's handy itinerary planner will pull listings into relevant itineraries for trip planners.

  6. Listings can be updated at any time; however, they must be renewed annually. This will be communicated via email, the primary channel to receive communications from NLT.

  7. Throughout the year there will be calls (via email) for seasonal travel offers, it’s important to submit prior to deadlines. This ensures your offers will be eligible for marketing opportunities with NLT.

  8. Listings and travel offers must comply with the Tourism Assurance Plan (TAP).

  9. There are resources to help tourism operators create amazing listings and travel offers.

NLT resources: Tips & Resources Guide, Listing Best Practices and Checklists, and the helpful NL Tourism Operator Portal Officers (NLTourismOperatorPortal@gov.nl.ca).

Go Western Newfoundland resources: new listing fillable form, new travel offer fillable form, market readiness tools, and our Director of Marketing & Market Readiness, Emili Fraser.

  10. It’s free!

Adding and renewing listings and travel offers is undoubtedly time consuming. But it is the best and often the first step for becoming engaged with the provincial tourism industry here in Newfoundland & Labrador.

If you know anyone new to the industry or who should have listings on NewfoundlandLabrador.com, share this post with them, and encourage them to contact Emili
