Did you know there's a new National Marine Conservation Area (NMCA) proposed for the south coast of the island of Newfoundland? The benefits of a NMCA are many including ecological, cultural, economic, and social. Parks Canada, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Miawpukek First Nation, Qalipu First Nation, and the Town of Burgeo are working together to assess the feasibility of creating a NMCA on the southwest coast of Newfoundland.
